At Home Date Night Ideas

Date
May, 01, 2025

There are plenty of opportunities to spend quality time with your husband, especially during shana reshona. Hopefully this list will provide you with fun ideas to help keep you entertained.

Game Night

Play your favorite board game! Some games are more enjoyable when played with multiple people, but there are plenty of good options for just 2!

  • Ideas Include:
    • Code Names Duet (https://a.co/d/i8PBpzk
    • Boggle
    • Perpetual Commotion
    • Sorry!
    • Connect 4
    • Mancala
    • Ticket to Ride
    • Rummikub
    • Monopoly

TIP: For cheaper versions of classic board games, check out the store Five Below. They sell games such as Connect 4, Mancala and decks of cards, all for under $5 each.

Candlelight Dinner

All you have to do is turn off the lights and put t-lights on your table and dinner has transformed into a romantic date night setting.

Paint Canvases

Even if you are not artistic, painting on a canvas can be a lot of fun! You can find an endless amount of beginner’s tutorials online or you can just go freestyle and paint whatever you like.

Supplies can be very inexpensive if purchased from stores such as Amazing Savings, Walmart or Five Below.

  • Supplies you will need:
    • Acrylic paint
    • Canvases
    • Paint brushes
    • Disposable plastic tablecloth

Make Your Own Pizza

Upgrade your pizza night and turn it into an interactive activity.

Set up a preparation station with a variety of pizza toppings and have a great time preparing your pizzas together.

Pizza dough is fairly simple to make, but no one will judge if you buy pre-made! To make this dinner even easier, you can buy baked pizza crusts, pitas or flatbreads at the grocery store or bakery.

TIP: Walmart sells fresh kosher pizza dough for $1.78 (at the time the article was written). I’ve also seen similar products at Trader Joe’s and at local bakeries.

TIP: Pizza dough and baked breads typically freeze very well! Buy a few packages at the store and you will have a last-minute dinner available on demand.

Make S’mores

You don’t need a camp bonfire to make smores at home!

All you need is graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate.

How to prepare:

Microwave: Create a s’mores sandwich and microwave for about 15 seconds

Oven: Preheat your oven to broil. Layer 1 graham cracker square, chocolate and a marshmallow on a lined cookie sheet. Place in the oven for about 1-2 minutes, but not longer so it doesn’t burn. Once out of the oven, add the second graham cracker square onto the s’more to make it complete.

Watch Your Wedding Video

You would be surprised how exciting it can be to watch your wedding video together. There are sure to be many details you forgot about or people you didn’t realize came. Watching your wedding video together is a great way to spend some time together while remembering details of one of the most special days in your lives.

Watch Childhood Videos

Ask your mother or mother-in-law for memorable videos from your childhood. Watching them together with your husband is sure to bring lots of laughter along with a glimpse at what you both looked like as children.
